Scholars
Program
A Pioneer Africa initiative supporting the holistic development of high school scholars, and guidance towards higher education placement.

About The Program
The Pioneer Africa Scholars Program is a flagship program under Schools by PA, which challenges high school students to think deeper about the trajectory of their higher education, and how to apply what they learn in school to the world’s rapidly-growing online economy. Through the Pioneer Africa Scholars Program, we are welcoming students to explore their passions more, relate with their immediate environment, and use that as a foundation to their academic trajectory in institutions of higher learning.

Every year, the program admits 20 scholars, who will partake in an intensive, 4-day summit that will span across two weekends.
In the first week, scholars will be part of Build In A Box, a condensed entrepreneurial leadership curriculum developed by the African Leadership Academy (ALA). Build In A Box embeds our scholars in the practice of leadership through applied learning and enables them with the skills and competencies to make an impact in their communities, while being a part of ALA’s expansive network. In the second week, scholars will engage with personal Development and college readiness curricula, topping it off with a collage trajectory map that they and their mentors will refer to frequently as they navigate college applications.
